Full Schedule of Events
Celebrate PC’s signature fall weekend at Homecoming 2025. Open to all members of the Friar community, Homecoming features events like the Friar 5K, Late Night Madness, family-friendly programs, and alumni social gatherings.
Online registration is now closed. Walk-in registration is available. All attendees must check in at the Slavin Center upon arrival to campus. Please note, some ticketed events may not be able to accommodate walk-ins.
Friday, Oct. 3
Homecoming Check-In
2 – 8 p.m.
Slavin Center
Swing by and check in for the weekend. While you’re there, pick up any event tickets and purchase exclusive Homecoming merchandise. Staff will be available to answer all questions about the weekend.
Women’s Ice Hockey vs. Quinnipiac

Support the Friars as they take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats! Admission is free for all fans.
Men’s Soccer vs. Villanova

Ray Open House and Welcome Party

Raymond Dining Hall
Start your weekend with the ultimate dining experience on campus at Raymond Dining Hall. Stop by for music, prizes, and (of course) chicken nuggets. Please register if you plan to attend.
Students with a meal plan can swipe and bring up to two guests – parents or immediate family. Students and families without a meal plan pay the door rate ($16) for dinner.
Family Fri-Yay!
6:30 – 10:30 p.m.
McPhail’s and Lower Slavin Center
Pull up a stool and make some memories over a milkshake with our student leaders on campus. Challenge friends and family to a friendly game of cornhole. Then, grab your dauber and some free popcorn at “PC celebrity” bingo! The night will really start to rock when Newport-based Blockhead takes the stage in McPhail’s.
All are welcome to pop in at any time.

Open House for Ryan Incubator and Friartown’s Closet Clothing Donation Drop-Off

Please join us for an open house in the new Ryan Incubator space in Feinstein! You can visit Friartown’s Closet, see the new student entrepreneur office space and soundproof pod, and learn more about the many programs and opportunities for students interested in entrepreneurship!
In the spirit of Friars helping Friars, Friartown’s Closet, the on-campus, student-run thrift shop supported by the Ryan Incubator, will be open to donate clothes and/or shop for your student! The mission of Friartown’s Closet is to provide students with a more equitable and sustainable way to buy and sell clothing.
Friartown’s Closet will also be organizing pop-ups in the Smith Hill Annex where we will invite community members to shop for free! The first pop-up will take place later this fall (date soon to come) and is a great opportunity for the broader PC community to support our neighbors. We are seeking donations of gently used clean clothing for women, men, boys, and girls. Winter coats, warm weather and dress/professional clothing are most needed for this event.

Tour of St. Dominic Chapel

St. Dominic Chapel
Join Providence College treasurer Rev. Kevin Robb, O.P. ’71 for a tour of the architectural inspiration behind St. Dominic Chapel as we prepare to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Father Robb will discuss the life of St. Dominic and the history of the Dominican Order depicted in the stained-glass art, crafted by renowned artist Sylvia Nicolas ’01Hon.
Friar 5K
11 a.m.
Starts at Harkins Hall and finishes at Ray Treacy Track
On your marks! The annual Friar 5K, benefiting the National Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, returns for Homecoming Weekend. Students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to run or walk the 3.1-mile course around campus.

Hartford: It is an easy out-and-back on a section of the Hop River Rail Trail in Vernon, CT. The route is shaded and kid, stroller, and leashed dog friendly.
The GPS address for the parking lot is 51 Church St., Vernon.
The group will meet at the covered picnic table at 11 a.m. and head out for 11:15 a.m.
We will be walking roughly 150 meters from the parking area to the spot where we will begin and end our run. This will allow us to do the entire 3.1 without needing to cross any streets.
There is a spacious picnic area adjacent to the parking lot that we can use to socialize afterwards.
Washington, D.C.: The group will start at the Capitol Reflecting Pool (on the side closest to the US Botanic Gardens)and run to the WW1 memorial and loop back. There is parking near the botanic gardens (100 Maryland Ave SW, Washington, D.C.). For those who want to run in person with a group, we will meet at 11 a.m. and aim to start the run at 11:15 a.m.
Women’s Soccer Pre-Game Alumni Reception

Join fellow women’s soccer alumni for Homecoming Weekend as the Friars face Seton Hall. Enjoy a pre-game reception with food and drinks before the game at noon, halftime recognition on the field, and a post-game gathering with the coaching staff at Brad’s. Friar Family Fall Festival

Celebrate with the whole Friar community at this Homecoming favorite!
Alumni, parents, students, and friends are invited to the outdoor festival with food trucks, bars (21+ area), lawn games, a student band showcase, and alumni musical performances.
The Department of Theatre, Dance and Film at PC will have a pop-up performance featuring excerpts from fall classes and the sounds of the 60s. Relive the magic of your college days and create new memories!
Our fall festival will have autumn activities, vending machine art and live painting by the Petal Pusher, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a Homecoming welcome message from College President Rev. Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P. ’78, ’82G.
Don’t forget to throw on your flannel for a family photo — it’s the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of the season with your Friar family!
PC’s very own branded beer and seltzer — crafted by Friars, for Friars. Brewed at The Guild, enjoy a Friars Forever light lager or a Hux hard seltzer at select locations in the Providence area. Proceeds benefit The Fund for Providence College, so with every sip, you support the student experience at PC.
Enjoy responsibly, for those 21 and older.

Get ready to lace up your sneakers and show off your Friar spirit! Join us for the Friar Fun Run, a special race just for kids aged 12 and under. This event is all about having fun and celebrating your Friar pride. Be sure to wear your favorite Friar gear — whether it’s a jersey, a hat, or even a custom-made t-shirt—so we can fill the course with our school colors. There will be music, cheers, and a whole lot of fun along the way. Every participant will receive a special Friar Fun Run medal at the finish line to remember the day.
